"Bronze Scoop - Haute Epoque - 16th-17th Century "
Bronze scoop with double zoomorphic spout. Ring handle held by two women's heads. 16th - 17th century 29cm wide including the two spouts 13cm diameter at the neck 28cm long with the attachment 11cm deep the container alone The scoop has been polished by its former owner. The scoop is a utensil used to contain and pour water. It was filled by immersion in a well or a tub. We see this utensil on a painting by Robert Campin, the Annunciation made to Mary dated 1427-1432, it is at the Metropolitan of New York (visible on the last photo).
