"Mother-of-pearl Candelabra"

Bronze, mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, abalone, onyx.
h. 27 cm, base diameter 12 cm.
These two candelabra, embellished with mother-of-pearl and lapis lazuli, are a refined example of a Wunderkammer object. The shape and decorative motifs are not reminiscent of known examples, suggesting a Western collector commissioned the work from a Turkish manufacturer.
