"Masonic Diploma 1804 - Lyon Saint Jean Lodge "
Diploma awarded by the lodge of Saint John in Lyon, in 5804, from the era of true light (i.e. 1804). Engraving on parchment, with seal. (We were unable to open the box protecting the wax seal.) Diploma awarded to Artus Vingtrinier aged 26. We have some data on this person: Arthus Marie Anne Vingtrinier, Trader in Lyon, 1778-1866. Inheriting a family fortune, he became a furrier (animal skin trader) in Lyon, then a real estate trader. Lived at 9 rue des Marrionniers. At 20, traveled to Germany, cultured, spoke Italian, played the flute, loved painting and hunting. Is very romantic and madly loves his sister, his family and his cousin Fanny raised with him and whom he will marry. Died at the asylum Saint Jean de Dieu, Route de Marseille.
