Victor Fassin, born on August 19, 1826 in Liège, where he died on December 1, 1906, was a Belgian painter. He was also a professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège from 1883 to 1893. Trained by Barthélemy Vieillevoye and Auguste Chauvin at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège (1842-1851), he stayed in Paris, then in Rome (1855-1860) thanks to a scholarship from the Lambert Darchis Foundation. He was also a drawing teacher in the young ladies' class at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège from 1883 to 1893. He died in Liège on December 1, 1906. Portrait of a woman with a pensive gaze.
