"Mahogany Chest Of Drawers, Empire Period – Early 19th Century"
This mahogany burl veneer chest of drawers opens at the waist with a drawer with a slight groove underneath. It also offers three identical drawers, set back and larger, with bowl-shaped knobs, locks and openwork cherub-patterned entrances, all original. The front uprights have detached columns, with bronze capitals and collars, ending in ball feet. This piece of furniture is topped with a Belgian small granite marble slab. The drawer interiors as well as the structure are in oak. This chest of drawers, a true piece of art furniture made by cabinetmakers at the beginning of the 19th century, bears witness to the craftsmanship and aesthetics of its time. ********* Period: Early 19th century Excellent condition.
