Empire Style Commode in Flamed Mahogany – Detached Columns – French Polished Finish – Early 19th Century. An elegant Empire period commode, early 19th century, crafted from high-quality flamed mahogany. It features a drawer in the frieze and three large drawers in the front. Superb mahogany veneer with a strong butterfly-wing grain, particularly decorative. The front features detached columns adorned with gilt bronze rings. Original bronze keyhole escutcheons and rosettes. Antique black granite top. The traditional French polished finish provides a beautiful depth and highlights the richness of the veneer. The drawer interiors are made of antique solid wood. The structure is sound. Very good overall condition, beautifully presented.
