Large Community Library In Solid Chestnut Wood – 1940
Large chestnut bookcase composed of two sections. The upper section opens with four doors, each consisting of two panes of glass with molded frames. These doors are separated by fluted wooden stiles and have round metal escutcheons with a working key and lock. Upon opening, three adjustable shelves are revealed. The entire piece is topped with a molded cornice. The lower section, deeper and shorter, has a similar structure but features solid doors. These doors open onto a shelf. This very spacious piece rests on a molded plinth. ********Period: 1940. Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
