Magic Horn Mohara Ody, Madagascar
The Ody Mohara is a magical object originating from western Madagascar.
Created by an ombiasy diviner-healer during a religious ritual, its main function is to protect its owner.
This example is made of wood, filled with various metal objects set in the earth. The object is decorated with old blue, white and red beadwork (old 'white heart' beads are visible on the edge), sewn on a fabric allowing the horn to be positioned on the chest or at the waist of its owner.
Very well preserved.
