The first cover was bound after the title page.
Slight browning on the edges of the cover, very fine copy.
17 illustrations by Umberto BRUNELLESCHI, (1 frontispiece, 8 hors-textes and 8 in-textes), engraved by the etcher Gorvel, the line engravings were printed in black by Adolphe Valcke and colored by the stencil master Jean Saudé. The typographic printing was entrusted to the Coulouma printing house in Argenteuil.
Printed in 499 copies + 25 HC, 1 of the 5 non-commercial copies on Japon Impérial (N°1) including a black suite of hors-textes and chapter headings, signed in pencil by the artist.
Attached on loose leaves, the subscription form, 4 pp. in-4°, including 1 hors-texte, slightly creased.
By the great Brunelleschi, the color rendering is absolutely breathtaking on Japon Impérial, worthy of the original drawings, MAGNIFICENT.
