Pair Of Officer's Flintlocks

Important pair of officer's flintlock pistols. Empire Consulate. Signed "Pirmet in Paris finished by Bauchers> Silver fittings. The trigger guards, trigger guards, counterplates, and rod holders are all hallmarked with different controls. The decoration of these fittings are the attributes of the General Officers in the oriental style, the walnut stocks are inlaid with silver filigree floral decoration. The polished iron plates with the signature on two lines. Engraved iron hammers. The octagonal barrel with sides then round retains most of its gilding and browning, the barrels are smoothbore. The loading and cleaning rods are made of whalebone with ivory tips. Total length: 47 cm A very beautiful pair of pistols in their well-preserved original condition.
