"Senior Officer's Saber "
Consulate officer's saber. Gilded brass mount. Crook-shaped cap with a long, chiseled shank. Guard chiseled with oak leaves and acorns, twisted copper philigree grip. Oval orillons carved with a Greek god, quillon in the shape of leaves and grapes. Damascus blade with a carp-tongue rush (arabesques can still be seen). Gilded brass scabbard, entirely chiseled with stems and flowers, with the imperial eagle at the end, finished with an iron dart. Very good original condition. Empire Consulate.
