Biography of the artist Joachim Weingart (born in 1895 in Drohobych, Galicia – died in 1942 in Auschwitz) is a painter of Polish origin who studied in Weimar, Vienna and Berlin, notably with Alexander Archipenko. Settling in Paris in 1925, he fully integrated into the artistic avant-garde of Montparnasse. He exhibited at the Salons des Indépendants, d'Automne and des Tuileries, and became a member of the "Group of Four" alongside Léon Weissberg, Alfred Aberdam and Zygmunt Menkes. His works, nourished by impressionist and modernist influences, oscillate between landscapes, still lifes, nudes and urban scenes. Arrested during the Occupation, he was interned in Pithiviers in 1942 before being deported to Auschwitz, where he tragically died the same year. Shipping possible worldwide
