Each of these tiles of 12.5cm x 12.5cm x 0.8cm approximately, is decorated in high fire blue and manganese with a character, sheltered from sun under a large hat, pretty landscapes in a circle whose spandrels are painted with "Fleurs de Lys".
Use of muted blue, perhaps involuntary, like a surface wash is superb.
Probably made by Jacques Ollivier, before 1750, beautiful hand-made;
