"Marquetry Display Cabinet, Louis XVI Style – 2nd Part Of The 19th Century"
This elegant Louis XVI style display cabinet, made of mahogany and rosewood veneer marquetry, opens in its upper part with a drawer decorated with a superb bronze scroll frieze with two refined pull knobs forming a rosette. Just below, a double glass door has a veneer arranged in butterfly wings, adding a touch of symmetry and finesse. These doors are equipped with an authentic functional lock with fillet entries accompanied by their key. The central part of the cabinet reveals a large compartment closed by a tilting door, magnificently decorated with a trompe-l'oeil representing book covers, thus giving the whole a bibliophile charm. In the lower part, two doors, equipped with a Louis XVI entry lock decorated with a ribbon and accompanied by their key, open onto a storage space. These doors are enhanced by a rosewood veneer arranged in butterfly wings, while the interior offers a fixed shelf. The uprights of the furniture, with cut sides, are distinguished by a vertical rosewood veneer on a mahogany background and are decorated, in their upper part, with a fluted bronze fall. The feet, also with cut sides, are enhanced with a bronze frame. Finally, the lower crosspiece is subtly decorated with a central bronze trim. Thanks to its finesse, its exceptional manufacturing quality and its small footprint, this display cabinet combines aesthetics and functionality, integrating perfectly into a refined interior. ********* Period: 2nd part of the 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
