"Mirecourt Violin, 20th Century Stradivarius Model, Crackled Varnish - Musical Instrument"
Violin made in Mirecourt at the beginning of the 20th century in Stradivarius model. The two-piece maple back measures 360 mm. It has dark rosewood pegs with silver tips. The fingerboard is made of ebonized hardwood. The chin rest is made of rosewood and the tailpiece is a Wittner tailpiece with 4 fine tuners to facilitate precise and easy tuning. The bridge is modern and the new strings are Corelli Crystal. The originality of this violin lies in the cracked texture of the varnish which was most likely done during manufacture on a dark red base in order to reinforce the vintage and old look. This is an original process that is not used very often and which makes this violin stand out from the crowd of good old student violins.
