"Fan Circa 1830 With Mirror In Good Condition "
Beautiful fan, mounted in bone or other organic material. The leaf has a decoration on both sides. It is a raised and gilded lithograph with a decoration of gallant scenes. The frame, also in very good condition, is worked in repiercing and gilding. The plumes are decorated for one with a gilded metal motif and for the other with a mirror. This allowed the lady to discreetly look at what was happening behind her. This small detail is an interesting and rare feature for a fan of this period. Length closed: 27.5cm Wingspan after opening: 52 cm Quality manufacturing, great freshness of the decoration and curiosity of its small mirror system.
