Magnificent and very delicate 18th-century message case.The case is made of mother-of-pearl plaques engraved with small parallel waves. A ring highlighting the opening and the part entering the lid are made of solid silver.
The case is hallmarked:
. Parrot's head: Parisian hallmark for small silver works used between 1744 and 1750.
Very beautiful case, with superb mother-of-pearl, beautifully iridescent and delicately crafted to catch the light.
