Le Tallec is an emblematic name in art porcelain in Paris, mainly known for its workshop founded by Camille Le Tallec (1906-1991). Le Tallec production is essentially centered on fine porcelain, hand-decorated according to the techniques and styles of the 18th and 19th centuries, in the tradition of the Sèvres factory.
In 1930, Camille Le Tallec took over the family porcelain decoration workshop, located in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, and transformed it into a renowned workshop, bringing together up to thirty specialized painters.
The workshop is distinguished by the quality of its hand-painted decorations, without copies or pastiches, but with great respect for traditional French know-how.
Nearly 375 original decorations were created or preserved by Le Tallec, of which around a hundred are considered major and popular, including the “Attributes of Music” decoration.
Le Tallec produced a wide variety of pieces: vases, coffee and tea sets, jewelry boxes, soup tureens, planters, and decorative objects, all in hand-painted porcelain, often richly decorated with gold. Some works were made to order for prestigious personalities and institutions, including Queen Elizabeth II, the French Republic, and the Shah of Iran.
