Albi, rue saint Julien. HST signed lower right ANDRE STRAUSS. Born in Paris in 1885, died in 1971. Painter of landscapes and portraits. Student of Ernest Laurent, he debuted in 1906 at the Salon des Artistes Français where he won a gold medal and the Corot Prize in 1925, then at the Salon des Tuileries of which he was one of the founding members. He exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne of which he was a member since 1930. He exhibited in groups at the Venice Biennale, Berlin, NY and others. He remained attached to a certain naturalism. Later gilded frame.
