Abraham Weinbaum (1890-1943) studied at the Academies of Krakow (Poland, Austro-Hungarian Empire) and Odessa (Ukraine, Russian Empire). He settled in Paris (France) in 1909. He painted flowers, portraits, Parisian scenes, and Jewish figures. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1909 and at the Salon des Tuileries from 1928. He was a prominent figure in Montparnasse during its heyday. During the war, he was arrested and deported to Auschwitz (Poland), where he died in 1943.
