French 18th Century Mennecy Porcelain Snuff Box/bonbonniere Dog And Puppy
A French 18th-century Mennecy porcelain snuff box/bonbonniere modelled as a dog and puppy, circa 1770, resting on a yellow cushion decorated with leaf sprays, with gilt metal mounts. The lid is decorated on the outside with leaf patterns in gold, puce, and grey, and on the inside with a flower spray.
Measurements:
Length: 6.8cm (2.7in)
Depth: 4.5cm (1.8in)
Height: 3.7cm (1.5in)
Condition: In good condition. There is a small burn mark on the outside edge of the lid, just below the hinge (see images). There is a slight light crazing on the inside of the lid, visible only under magnification. Other than those, a few spots from firing and very light wear.
