"A Crystal And Silver-gilt Salt Bottle, 19th Century"
Pear-shaped salt bottle made of colorless rock crystal and its finely chiseled vermeil setting. The hinged cap features a central motif depicting a child sitting in a niche topped with a mascaron and surrounded by raised flowers, foliage, and rocaille motifs characteristic of the Louis XV style. The upper part of the neck features a vase pouring water like a spring, surrounded by plants and scrolls, on either side. The base of the bottle also features these raised floral decorations and has a gadrooned base decorated with roses. Napoleon 3, circa 1860 Silver hallmark: boar's head from 1838. Diamond-shaped workshop hallmark.
