Ottoman Empire flintlock pistol, 19th century. Richly decorated lock with mythological monster head, swan-necked dog with a reminder of the mythological monster. Round five-sided barrel with a long mouthpiece covering the barrel in chased, embossed silver and coral inlay. Walnut frame with floral motifs in silver leaf inlay and coral cabochons. Silver guard and cap. Length 49.5 cm. Good general condition, with traces of use. I note a lack of silver and coral inlays, visible in particular on photos No. 9, 10, 11.
