A Satsuma bowl decorated with gold and polychrome enamels, featuring on the interior a procession with samurai and a daimyo on horseback. The exterior shows numerous figures walking. Signed Shoko Takebe, with the name “Thomas B. Blow” inscribed in katakana.

Thomas B. Blow was an English merchant who lived in Japan. He supplied many collectors in Europe. His connection to Shoko Takebe is unknown, but his name appears exclusively on Takebe’s works.
