"Silver Ciborium, Embossed With Baroque Decoration, Partially Gilded, Italy, 18th Century "
Excellent solid silver ciborium (approximately 600 g) embossed with baroque decoration, partially vermilion. Italy, probably Sicily from the 18th century. Guarantee and unidentified maker's marks (see photos). The polylobed foot is richly decorated with volutes and rocailles, embossed, chiseled and partially vermilion. The knot in the shape of a rocaille on three sides with Rokoko decoration. The false cup is decorated with openwork acanthus leaves. The cup in gilded silver. The lid repeats the embossed and chiseled decoration of the foot, in the same refined style, and is surmounted by a gilded cross. Fairly good condition (small weld in a hollow of the foot / behind a rocaille).
