"Large Monstrance - Reliquary (saint Florida) In Solid Silver From The Gothic Period, 15th Century"
Monstrance - Reliquary in the form of a tower in embossed and hammered silver, resting on a polylobed foot followed by a gadrooned knot. The central part consists of a flattened, rounded base and the two rectangular sides, decorated with an openwork frieze in the form of floral arcades and a small rock crystal cabochon. In the middle, surrounded by two pinnacles with Gothic decoration and architecture, is a blown glass cylinder housing in the hollow a glass ampoule containing tiny relics of Saint Florida, accompanied by a label written in French: "pieces of tooth and hair of St. Florida - on the reverse: "martyred in Carthage on January 19, 2..?". Dominated by a stylized and openwork crown with fleur-de-lis decoration. Impressive work of a German or Austrian goldsmith? from the middle of the 15th century, in good condition.
