"Pair Of Ming Dynasty Lacquered Wood Bixie"
Bixie or Quilin. Carved from a single block of wood, it has its head facing upwards, its mouth wide open, and its teeth clearly visible. Between the mouths, two small, distinctive and unusual Bixies can be seen, each with its bulging eyes, a clearly visible mane along its spine, and stylized wings on its legs.
The lacquered surface appears severely damaged: a crack appears on one side due to a significant change in humidity. Traces of gold and white lacquer are visible on its teeth and claws.
