A student at the Royal Academy in 1873, he exhibited there from 1875. He subsequently became a member of the Royal Society of British Fair Artists in 1884, the Society of Oil Painters in 1892, and the Royal Institution in 1898. He exhibited in London, at the Royal Academy and on Suffolk Street, as well as in Paris, where he won numerous prizes. One of his works, "Rose," is in the Leeds Museum. PRICE: Paris: March 1920: Farm in a Sussex Meadow: 450 francs. The canvas was probably restretched in the 1970s; the frame likely also dates from the 1970s. The painting needs cleaning; it is signed lower left.
