"Statue Of The Ngbaka People, Drc"
Statue representing a primordial ancestor in the form of a standing female figure. The arms are spread out from the torso. A line of small successive holes forming a U extends from the breasts to above the genitals. The mouth, slightly forward, is half-open. The half-closed eyes are shaped like coffee beans. Traditional scarifications are chiseled on the nasal bridge. Holes at the top of the head, in the ears and under the genitals are present.
Note the originality of the treatment of the feet.
