Nineteenth-century oil painting on canvas attributable to the Neapolitan school of the first half of the nineteenth century.The work depicts a coastal view animated by sailing ships and small rowing boats in a bright and calm atmosphere. In the foreground some popular figures animate the shore, while in the background stands a picturesque fortified village, perhaps identifiable with a location on the Gulf of Naples.
The frame needs cleaning.
