Venetian Painting Depicting Admiral
Beautiful and rare Venetian painting from the mid-1700s, depicting a full-figure Admiral with ruins in the background, in the right column we note the writing: Osvaldo Parussati aged 53 - 1749.(date of construction of the Parussati palace).
Deliberately during the restoration phases, four small holes with a diameter of a few millimeters in the upper and central area of the painting were left as "rough stucco", because according to the story of the family of origin, during the incursions
Austrian, in the mid-1800s, soldiers invaded their estate in Veneto, entered the villa and fired several shots at the canvas,
robbing the house.
Alessandro Longhi, portraitist, was born on 12 June 1733 in Venice, eldest son of the painter Pietro Falca, known as Longhi, and Caterina Maria Rizzi.
He embarked on an artistic career and it intensified greatly in the seventies.
