José Paolo Licatti "the Farmer"

José Paulo Licatti. Oil on canvas "The Farmer," signed lower left, P. Licatti. Titled in Portuguese and dated on the back, "The Deliverer," 1978. On the back, it bears an exhibition label from the Fine Arts Association of Sao Paulo (Brazil).
One might wonder if Claude Lelouch was inspired by this painting to create the character of Sam Lion (Jean-Paul Belmondo) in "Itinerary of a Spoiled Child."
José Paulo Licatti worked in Sao Paulo. He was not without talent, having known how to paint his fellow citizens, bestowing them, with each brushstroke, a certain extra soul.
Painted and patinated wooden frame from the period. Bears the manufacturer's stamp in Sao Paulo on the back of the stretcher. An accident occurred in the upper left corner of the frame.
