Rare and beautiful engraved copy by Bernard Picart: A flat volume in blond glazed calf, spine with raised bands decorated with gilt irons in the compartments, garnet morocco title, covers with triple gilt fillets, edges gilded with bright gold, marbled guards: "Pierres Antiques Gravées", on which the Engravers have put their names. Drawn & Engraved in copper on the Originals or after the Prints, by Bernard Picart. Taken from the principal Cabinets of Europe, explained by: Mr. Philippe de Stosch, Advisor to HM the King of Poland, Elector of Saxony, Dedicated to His M. Imp. & Cath. Charles VI. And Translated into French by Mr. de Limiers, of the Academy of Bologna. In Amsterdam, at Bernard Picart, the Roman, Engraver & Print Dealer, on the Cingel with the Star. M. DCC. XXIV. (1724). A remarkable demonstrative book with two-color titles opposite, engraved with magnificent vignettes and very beautiful plates on every page framed with Cameos, accompanied by Commentaries...
