Return From Putti Hunting, Signed Le Brun, Large Terracotta, Late 19th Century

Important terracotta representing two putti on a rocky mound and presenting a return from hunting, their dog at their feet and surrounded by game.
The scene is very lively and the toddlers seem full of life, one of the two sitting below is stroking a hunting dog while holding a hunting horn.
The second child sitting higher up is holding a hunting trophy and two others are at his feet.
The scene recalls the children of Diana, goddess of the hunt.
The whole is large and in very good condition apart from two small fingers glued back on.
Possibility of making an almost invisible restoration in the workshop.

Superb unwaxed patina, raw without artifice. Period end of the 19th century.
Signature Le Brun in hollow on the back on the terrace.
