This box contains a pair of pistols similar to the models offered as a national reward by the Executive Committee.
It is made of oak with a steel cloverleaf grip and lock. It is covered in red velvet. The bullet chamber covers are covered in matching morocco gilt with small iron.
It is complete with all its accessories: screwdriver, powder horn, mallet, cleaning rod and tamping rod, small hammer, measuring rod, bullet mold, oiler, extraction rod with tool, light pin (all original parts except powder horn and bullet mold).
The locks of both pistols are signed "Manufre à Versailles". Engraved lock tails. Swan-neck hammers with flat bodies. Faceted iron basins with spark arrestors. Counter-locks with eyelets. All screws engraved.
Barrel with brown bronzed hair stripes, engraved on both side panels "Boutet Directeur Artiste" and "Manufacture à Versailles", hallmarked with the three "Boutet" bars on the thunder and the "NB" hallmark, slightly blunderbussed at the muzzles. Gold decorated thunder. Gilded threads at the muzzle. Rear sights and front sights.
Fine long-barreled stocks with finely checkered buttstock, flat back. Iron fittings cut, plain, ice-polished. Ornate ramrod rings. Oval pommels. Ramrods with horn tips and iron cleaning tips.
These pistols are in perfect original condition.
