A traditional Plains Indian war club dating from the late 19th century. It consists of a carefully polished oval stone head, securely attached to a rawhide-wrapped handle. The attachment is reinforced with sinew wrap and decorated with a band of multicolored beadwork on a hide backing. The end of the handle is adorned with a tuft of horsehair. 52 x 15 cm
