Handcrafted Primitive Art Mask, Painted Terracotta, Ref. 1210
Primitive Art: To be identified.
An interesting painted terracotta mask featuring a stylized face with strongly defined features.
The mask is particularly notable for its very prominent, almost beak-like nose, as well as for its black and beige geometric patterns arranged symmetrically on the cheeks.
The reddish-brown, black, and ochre tones give it a lot of character and a beautiful decorative presence.
Period: early to mid-20th century.
Three old perforations at the chin, likely intended for attaching fiber or raffia elements that are now missing.
Condition: some signs of wear, visible in the photographs. These marks are consistent with its age and contribute to its decorative appeal.
