"Tapestry "departure For The Hunt" - 20th Century"
This tapestry was created in the 20th century after a hanging discovered in the 16th century in the Bordeaux region, attributed to the Ateliers des Flandres (Brussels) around 1500. This tapestry is exhibited at the Hôtel de Cluny (Paris). This masterpiece of medieval art shows us one of the favorite pastimes of the lords of the time, falcon hunting, also called in the 16th century "pleasant hunting" or "volley hunting." A noble activity par excellence because it requires not only means but also a certain skill; it is also an opportunity to display elegance.
