"Large Vase By Robert And Jean Cloutier, Circa 1960"
Vase by Robert and Jean Cloutier, twin brothers of French ceramics with a rich and dreamlike universe. Diabolo-shaped with a flared neck, it is made of glazed ceramic in shades of cloudy brown on the outside. The interior is covered with a white slip applied in a thin layer, subtly revealing the underlying red clay - a delicate finish characteristic of the Cloutiers. Signed under the piece Cloutier France. Provenance: Artists' studio. A certificate of authenticity from the widows of the Cloutier Brothers will be given to the buyer.
