"Limestone Altar Stone And Its Independent Relic – 19th Century "
It is always ambitious to want to date an altar stone. A little arbitrarily, therefore, I attribute it to the 19th century. Our stone was consecrated, as evidenced by the stains of Anointing of Holy Chrism on the crosses. It is classically engraved with five crosses but the central cross is of larger dimensions.
A relic accompanies it in a tomb to be sealed in an altar.
Made of lead, it is securely protected by two episcopal seals.
Dimensions of the relic: 4 cm by 4 cm
Dimensions of the stone: 33 cm by 28.5 cm and 4 cm deep
