Alexandre Bailly, French painter and decorator, married Louise Suzanne JAMBON in Paris 19th on May 29, 1894, daughter of Marcel JAMBON, decorator. He worked in partnership with his father-in-law Marcel Jambon from 1894 to 1908, then alone, for various theaters, including the Paris Opera (1895 to 1923), the Opéra-Comique (1903 to 1924). The play Kismet was written by Knoblauch, directed by L.Guitry and performed at the Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt in 1911. The inscription Kismet and L.Guitry is on a tab now stuck to the floor of the set (see photo).
