Trompe l'Oeil, Gouache, Late 18th Century.
Gouache treated in trompe l'oeil composed of six overlapping patterns, finely executed but given the meaning is not obvious. The map is in French, from before the revolution, and the text is in German. A hunting scene, a burnt musical score, an animated outdoor view and a miniature of a man in an oriental costume enrich the composition.The gouache is placed on a black background and the old frame gilded with leaf is in good condition . Period late 18th. Dimensions at sight of the gouache: 21cmx31cm. Frame: 47cm x 37cm.
