Feast Of July 14, Year Ix, Engraving, Consulate Period.
Representation of the commemoration of July 14 AN IX (storming of the Bastille) at Carré Marigny. The installations then erected were reused to celebrate the 1st Vendémiaire AN X (proclamation of the Republic of 1792). Some see it as a symbolic Freemasonry. Engraving printed at Basset, manufacturer of prints and wallpapers rue st Jacques. Vintage printing and colors. Around 1801-1802. Posterior golden baguette frame. Rarely represented, this engraving is part of the Carnavalet Museum collections. Dimensions at sight 43cm by 27cm
