"Sauteuse Chest Of Drawers, Louis XV/louis XVI Transition Style – Early 20th Century"
Small Sauteuse chest of drawers in rosewood and palisander, enhanced by marquetry representing musical instruments and flower vases. It is topped with a magnificent Brèche des Cadeneaux marble, carved with cut sides and projections and decorated with a fine groove around its edge. It thus follows the curves of the chest of drawers with grace. The front, also structured in projections, reveals three drawers at the top and two large drawers decorated with refined marquetry. In the center, a guitar, a drum, flowers and a ribbon compose a harmonious scene, while, on each side, a vase accompanied by a bouquet forms a delicate ensemble. These motifs are framed by a green-tinted wood net, drawing Greek angles. Each drawer has bronze pull handles, magnified by ribbon-shaped lock entries also in bronze. The sides of the chest of drawers are canted, enhanced at the top by a long bronze drop, bringing an additional touch of elegance. In the lower part, a low crosspiece is decorated in its center with a superb bronze trim with scroll motifs, adding to the finesse of the decoration. The chest of drawers rests on curved legs, enhanced by beautiful bronze sabots representing lion paws. *********Period: Early 20th centuryExcellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshopWaxed finishDelivery on estimate in France and internationally.Dimensions:Width: 113 cmDepth: 51 cmHeight: 88 cmReference: 134V
