Gendarmerie Carabiner
We present this gendarme's musket, apparently a model of 1822 Tbis, the lock however transformed from flint or percussion, normally all the fittings are in brass including the rings holding the barrel and here an iron ring was added apparently to hold the sling. A particularity on the butt is engraved the name of CLAUDELE certainly the name of the gendarme to whom it belonged. The rod is missing and on the lock a trace of the name of the manufacturer. (E25)
