Superb head of a cherub angel in Carrara marble, Italian work from the mid-17th century resting on a 19th century marble pedestal.
The face of the cherub is quite charming, the gaze turned upwards, the face slightly to the side.
It is very expressive and charming.
The features are finely detailed as are the wings enveloping it.

A very beautiful sculpture from the 17th century from the prestigious collection of Francesc Cambó (1876-1947), former Spanish minister who bequeathed a large part of his collection of paintings to the Prado Museum in Madrid, including the still life with jugs by Zurbaran.

The old photos were taken in his mansion on Via Laïetana in Barcelona.
