Louis XV Chest Of Drawers In Violet Wood And Rosewood Veneer, Circa 1760.
Louis XV chest of drawers with a curved shape in rosewood (sides) and violet (front) marquetry within rosewood frames. Geometric marquetry in precious wood with contrasting fillets and frames. It opens with three drawers on the front, finely chiseled gilt bronze ornamentation (corner drops, handles, sabots). Marble top, 18th century. Portor marble with a black background and very pronounced white veins, often wavy or in sheets. It comes from the La Spezia region (Liguria). A marble widely used under Louis XV for its elegant contrast and its rarity, which immediately enhances the furniture with which it is associated. Furniture in perfect condition. Restored in our workshop – French polish. Louis XV period circa 1760.
