CLASSICAL ART-FINE ARTS-SCULPTURE CHARLES SAMUEL PARIS 1886 TERRACOTA BUST OF A MAN Charles Samuel (1862-1938), Belgian sculptor and medalist, studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He worked on works in stone, marble, bronze and terracotta (like our piece presented here). Here a large bust portrait of a public/notable man, wearing the Legion of Honor on the left side of his frock coat; work in sculpted terracotta. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. Signed, dated and located in hollow with a stylus, on the back: Ch. Samuel, Paris, (18)86. Very good condition, patina of use (marks, traces... see descriptive photos). Weight: 15 kg.
