18th Century Hard Porcelain Cup From The Duke Of Angoulême Manufactory
Very beautiful cup from the manufacture of the Duke of Angoulême with the red signature with the letters AG crowned but not circled from the period Dihl and Guerhard 1781 -1793.
This cup on pedestal is very elegant and the production very neat.
The dominant color, moss green, is brightened on the cup as on its saucer with branches and foliage of matte gold. Conversely, the handle of the cup, the pedestal and the rim are decorated with a rich shiny gilding.
This double work on the gold attests to the care taken in the production of the piece.
The pure white interior of the cup is highlighted with a garland of golden foliage.
The front, opposite the handle is decorated with a large cartouche of very colorful flowers among which we recognize a pink peony also present on the two cartouches of the saucer, although different.
The signature is affixed to both pieces and the saucer reveals a small single golden flower underneath.
Dimensions: total height 7.5 cm, cup at the rim 8.5 cm, saucer diameter 14.5 cm.
Pieces from this period are rare.
This beautiful set will happily join another cup of a similar color or an egoist from the same manufacturer.
