" Soledad De Rojas (1933-2020) - Doña Inés"
- Oil on canvas.- In this first painting, signed in 1970, Soledad de Rojas addresses the quintessential Spanish sexist myth, but always from the perspective of empathy, narration and emotion. The young novice Doña Inés, barely admitted to the convent, barely a child, as the doll abandoned on the shelf suggests, discovers adolescent love in the well-known words of the mocker in Zorrilla's text. From a subtle literary quote, the artist creates a work of art that subtly reworks the myth of Don Juan, shifting the center of action to the intimate and delicate feminine breast.- Dimensions of the painting without frame: 60 x 73 cm / 70 x 83 cm with beautiful black lacquered frame.- Galerie Montbaron includes with all its lots a technical sheet drawn up by a qualified art historian.
